Soft orchard fruits, red apples, overripe pears and red apple skins leads to baked plum pudding, vanilla cream anglaise, and a hint of warming nutmeg.
Red berry and madeira cake trifle laced with sherry and vanilla pods, warming up to baked plums in red wine and cinnamon sticks. Red toffee apple and underlying sweetness from the port casks. Soft wood, toasted almonds and mild winter spices.
Long, lingering, viscous and satisfying. Cream soda from the Echlinville Pot Still transforms into iced raspberry and cherry Bakewell tart, before fading gradually to a final gentle hint of warm spiced ginger cake and vanilla cream.

We are proud to revive the famous Old Comber Irish Whiskey brand after a near 70 year absence.
One of the original Irish whiskey giants, Old Comber Whiskey was founded in 1825 and produced at the Comber Distilleries, which were located just ten miles from where The Echlinville Distillery now stands.
Comber Distilleries fell silent in 1953 and Old Comber joined the list of Ireland’s lost whiskeys. Its decline was lamented by whiskey enthusiasts around the world. In testament to our continued commitment to put County Down back on the world whiskey map, we have revived Old Comber Whiskey and are proud to return it to its Co. Down homeland.
In homage to the brand’s origins, our first Old Comber Irish Pot Still Whiskey release is a premium blend of pot still whiskeys aged in American Oak and Bourbon casks and finished in the finest Ruby Port casks.
Old Comber Revival
Rich, creamy, viscous, soft, and immaculately well balanced. Ripe red fruits from the port casks and dark stone fruits form the sherry casks marry with the luxurious Pot Still character of baked sponge cake, vanilla pods and gentle warming spices. Accomplished, moreish and immensely satisfying.

These old Irish whiskey brands are hugely important. Throughout the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries they built an industry that was the envy of the world, and now their revival is playing an important role in the resurgence of that industry.
In our view, names like Matt D’Arcy, Dunville’s and Old Comber deserve to be at the forefront of the Irish whiskey renaissance.
