Tasting Notes
Nose
Layers of sweet molasses over clean barley leads into rich, oily, viscous aromas. Red toffee apples, pear drops, baked pear, sweet vanilla crème anglaise and warm apple strudel.
Palate
Perfect texture. Sweet oak layered with dark treacle molasses, muscovado sugar and sweet vanilla. Stewed fruits, candied orange, marmalade, with hints of cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and rum ice cream. Sticky toffee pudding, crème brȗlée, blue mountain latte and banana bread.
Finish
Rich, oily and viscous. The sugars combine with the malt’s natural oils to coat the mouth sublimely with pure molasses, treacle and buttery barley. Then cream soda , candied orange, banana bread and dark rum.
Colour
Pure liquid gold meets wild meadow honey.
This is a whiskey that responds to warmth and develops in the glass.
